Duke fans will appreciate that Brad Stevens is a masterful coach and with a great player like Kyrie Irving, his own gifts are magnified.

In Game One of the series with the Milwaukee Bucks, Boston ran the pick and roll and pick and pop to perfection and Stevens says that Irving’s passing ability is a big part of the reason why. He remembers playing Irving as a Blue Devil in 2011:

“The pass was the scariest thing,” Stevens told Yahoo’s A. Sherrod Blakely. “He just picked you apart with the pass. So I’ve always thought he was a tremendous passer. He has great vision, great understanding of when to get rid of it, great touch on his passes, all that stuff.”
