We’ve mentioned before that Duke has a not-so-hidden advantage for athletes in the Duke University Medical Center: if it’s possible to be healed from an athletic injury or condition, Duke can do it.

Well there’s another rather significant and similar advantage: being around really smart people.

Turns out former Duke QB Daniel Jones can tell you about that.

When Jones injured his collarbone in early September, the staff sought out two of his teammates who had experience in 3-printing and engineering and asked them to engineer an extra pad for Jones to wear.

They came up with several prototypes and one of them proved to be ideal.

You know things are at a high level when your teammates are the ones who engineer your comeback. That is just so cool.
