As It Turns Out, In One Way Mike Anderson Might Be The Perfect Hire For St. John’s

Here’s a bit more on Mike Anderson, who former Duke assistant AD Mike Cragg, now the head man at St. John’s.

We followed him casually at UAB, Mizzou and Arkansas but we didn’t know how highly people regarded his character and ethics.

Given some of the struggles St. John’s has had since Louie Carnesecca retired with character of coaches and players, Anderson’s character must have been a major attraction for his new bosses and we don’t mean just Cragg. Given St. John’s religious mission having an honest man is a major plus.

It won’t matter if he can’t win but it’s a good starting point nonetheless.

Incidentally speaking of Carnesecca, he’s now 94. Wow!
