Shane Battier left Duke in 2001 after a remarkable drive to the national title, but he’s still wildly popular with Duke fans and widely respected for his athletic skill and also his considerable intelligence.

So we were thrilled to see that he’s been selected to enter the College Basketball Hall of Fame this fall.

We can't think of anyone who better epitomizes the concept of student-athlete or who is more deserving of induction.
