Durham’s Jordan High has been kind of hit and miss in basketball but in 1980, John Avery put together a team with one forward and four guards that won the state championship.

It’s not a powerhouse though, so the hiring of Rasheed Wallace came as an interesting surprise.

The former UNC big man and long time NBA star is volatile but has a keen mind for the game. It’s going to be interesting to see how he does at Jordan. Since a lot of our readers went there, we thought we’d make sure you knew. The kids there are going to be beyond thrilled, the league officials perhaps less so.
