Well this is pretty cool: former Duke point guard, and assistant and interim head coachJeff Capel, now building a future pain in the butt program at Pitt, is going to be doing studio analysis for CBS and Turner for the NCAA tournament.

He has a literal lifetime of experience to draw on. His late father started teaching him the game a boy, he learned more from Coach K as a player and an assistant, and of course on his own at VCU and Oklahoma.

If we’re lucky, someone will push him to tell the hilarious story about the time his father set him straight about transferring from Duke. The basic story (we can’t really do it justice) is that his dad knew he was thinking about transferring so he rode down from Fayetteville and took Jeff III out to lunch and pointed out to him that he was a starting point guard on the #1 team in the country and more or less asked him if he was out of his mind - then left him in the restaurant and stuck him with the bill.

When Jeff tells it you can almost see the eighteen-year-old crumple in his chair as his father just makes mincemeat of his logic. It’s a great story.
