Zion Williamson Named ACC Rookie and Player of the Year

After a spectacular season at Duke that people will talk about for years to come, Zion OMG Williamson has been named ACC Rookie of the Year and ACC Player of the Year.

His closest competition was teammate, roommate and close friend RJ Barrett. Williamson got 49 votes for POY to Barrett’s 16 and 47 to 21 for ROY. Tre Jones was also named to the All-Rookie team.

Williamson was also named to the All-Defensive team, getting three votes less than Jones, who had 56. Jones also came in second for Defensive Player of the Year with 19.

Incidentally, the state of Virginia finished 1-2 in the Coach of the Year voting with Virginia’s Tony Bennett getting 30 to Buzz Williams’ 12.
