When the season started, having some idea of what was about to burst into public consciousness, we posted this on Twitter: Zion’s coming.

After seeing his play in Canada, not to mention the general buzz coming out of Cameron, we knew something special was building so it’s been fun to see people realize just how good Zion Williamson may be.

This article kind of taps into that and also has some interesting comments and insights from other people, notably BC coach Jim Christian.

But our favorite part of this is how Zion approached the referees when he was asked to tuck in his jersey: “Mr. Ref...”

He’s very different from most of his teammates and competitors physically and in terms of his drive, but he’s very different from the norms of his generation in general. The guy is a throwback and a template for a very different sort of player at the same time.
