Over at Greensboro.com, Brant Wilkerson posted a look at the rest of Duke’s ACC schedule which is going to get a lot tougher starting Saturday.
The Blue Devils go to Virginia, which is never an easy place to play. Louisville at Louisville is certainly going to be challenging and Duke-State has historically been an intense rivalry (and one that should be twice a year. Damn you, ACC).
And of course UNCheat in the house is always a passion play. Personally, we resent having to play a program that not only cheated wildly but got away with it. But that may even make it worse to lose to them. Losing to a roughly equal rival is one thing but to someone who cheats wildly and gets away with it?
That really stinks.
Then Duke takes on Syracuse up there, with another record sellout, only with Tre Jones (we hope) and a fully healthy team (please, basketball gods).
Like everywhere Duke plays, Virginia Tech will give Duke its all on the 26th, then it’s Miami and Wake Forest at home, followed by the season ender in the Dome of the Unrepentant.
It’s possible that Duke could run the table but it won’t be easy at all.
Here’s something else to keep in mind: Duke, UNC and Virginia all have just one loss in conference play and Louisville is 8-2. But the teams have several more games between them: two between Duke and UNC, one with Duke and Virginia and Louisville gets Duke once, as noted above, and Virginia twice.
It all seems kind of Games of Throne-ish.
