Bobby Cremins
Former Georgia Tech coach Bobby Cremins is just one of many former ACC players and coaches to hail from New York City

ACC Basketball, and a particularly the Big Four, has long been called Tobacco Road which, if you read the book the term comes from, is not a compliment.

Of course players have come to the ACC from all over: from North Carolina naturally, from Montana in the case of Mike Lewis, from Western Pennsylvania and St. Thomas and even Japan.

And of course from New York.

So enjoy this ACC video on the Big Apple’s influence on the conference. It’s been a wonderful association that’s benefited both sides. Just consider the names briefly: Frank McGuire, Art Heyman, Charles Scott, Kenny Anderson.
