Duke beat Boston College 85-73 Sunday and the game saw Haley Gorecki hit a nice career milestone: the grad student hit 27 points which put her over 1,000 for her career.
Not many people can say they scored 1,000 points in college, much less in a great league like the ACC. She also had seven assists, four rebounds, five steals and a blocked shot which is a heck of a game by any standard. That’s one to brag about for life.
Duke got 14 points and 13 boards from Leaonna Odom, 15 from Azana Baines and 14 from Miela Goodchild.
Gorecki and Goodchild combined to hit 7-12 from three point range.
With the win, Duke moves to 7-3 and 1-0 in ACC play. Here’s more from GoDuke.com and also the Chronicle.
Next up for the Blue Devils: a trip to South Carolina to take on Dawn Staley’s Gamecocks on December 19th.
