ACC Roundup - Players In, Players Out

Injuries and transfers

Iowa State v Texas Tech

A couple of important early ACC developments we haven’t mentioned.

First, UNC has an injury as Brandon Robinson sprained his ankle against Winston-Salem State.

Robinson joins Anthony Harris, Jeremiah Francis and Sterling Manley on the sideline with injuries (the other three all have knee injuries).

Full props to WSSU by the way. We watched parts of that game and they are a really good team. Yes UNC won 96-61 but Winston-Salem State played like a very well coached team. They burned UNC repeatedly on fast breaks, drives to the basket and three point shots. They are going to be a tough out this season.

Second, Clemson got a major break when 6-8 Texas Tech transfer Khavon Moore was granted a waiver and is now eligible for Clemson immediately. The Tigers were hurting inside so if he Moore can play he’ll be a major addition.

Finally, Blake Harris bailed on NC State late last month. They should be able to overcome his loss.

Okay one more (final final?): here’s an update on former State big man Omer Yurtseven, the only man in D-1 whose last name doubles as a residence in a Mongolian cul de sac, will take the court for Georgetown soon. He has some comments about the ACC and the Big East among other things.
