A Bit Of Fun With Enes And Tacko

Two of the good guys in basketball

Charlotte Hornets v Boston Celtics

You may have noticed over the last several years that we have developed a keen admiration for both Enes Kanter and Tacko Fall, now both with the Boston Celtics.

We admire Fall for his intelligence and intellect as much as how far he’s come as a basketball player and we admire Kanter for his refusal to knuckle under to demands from the Turkish government. The politics interest us far less than the man’s repeated assertions of his unalienable rights. He was born in Turkey but he’s as American as anyone born here.

Anyway, the two Celtics have become fast friends who attend mosque together and look after each other.

This is no big deal here, just a nice clip of them having fun in a barber shop. What’s striking to us about it is that neither of them was born in the US and both came here as teenagers and both have thoroughly mastered not just English but idiomatic English. You have to listen carefully to hear an accent.

We think both guys are assets to this country and hope that they wish to become citizens. They’ll make us better.
