Only one game Sunday as Louisville came back to beat Miami 90-73.
The ‘Canes were good for about 25.5 minutes before Louisville wore them down.
Miami has minimal depth and it’s going to be a problem all season long. It’s really compounded when the ‘Canes get into foul trouble. Four guys finished with three fouls which normally wouldn’t be that big of a deal but when you only have seven, that really limits your aggressiveness.
Chris Lykes, who has been really good all season and who was exceptional defensively against NC State last time out, had 18 against the Cards.
Jordan Nwora had 18 to pace Louisville.
Pitt has been thoroughly admirable this year as the Panthers have gone a long way to rehab both their team and their image.
Jeff Capel has put together a solid backcourt but his team doesn’t have much up front. He’s an excellent recruiter obviously. Unfortunately he whiffed on one Sunday as Kofi Cockburn picked Illinois over Pitt and others.
No ACC games until Tuesday when it’s all Big Four: Duke visits Wake Forest and UNC and State tangle in Raleigh as the Pack gets a chance to validate its improvement under Kevin Keatts.
The decks are cleared Monday night for the NCAA football championship which sees Clemson, once again, taking on Alabama. Best of luck to our ACC partners as they go for another national championship. Beating ‘Bama is never easy but the Tigers are certainly capable. Roll Tigers! Blasphemy, yes, we know...
