NCAA Basketball: Virginia at Duke
Jan 19, 2019; Durham, NC, USA; Duke Blue Devils forward Zion Williamson (1) looks to pass as Virginia Cavaliers guard Kyle Guy (5) defends during the first half at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Rob Kinnan-USA TODAY Sports

ESPN’s Myron Medcalf looks at the college basketball landscape and sees four primary candidates for National Player of the Year: Zion Williamson, Tennessee’s Grant Williams, RJ Barrett and Kansas’ Dedric Lawson, and he sees Williamson far ahead of the rest.

It may be a bit early for this but he’s putting him in historical company based on his season so far: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, Penny Hardaway, Jason Williams and Anthony Davis.

That’s amazing. Enjoy him while he’s at Duke. He’ll belong to the world soon.
