St Bonaventure v Syracuse
SYRACUSE, NY - DECEMBER 29: Marek Dolezaj #21 of the Syracuse Orange is better shooting layups than taking charges from a player who outweighs him by 100 lbs.

Remember on Saturday how Syracuse’s Marek Dolezaj had the courage to take a charge from Duke’s 275 lb. Zion Williamson? How long it took him to get off the floor?

Turns out the 6-10, 180 lb. Dolezaj, who perhaps had more courage than sense, is still hurting and didn’t get back to practice until Tuesday.

He’s not entirely sure he’d do it again and that ought to maybe dissuade other people from trying it as well.

Duke has been on the other end of this.

When Duke hosted Michigan and the Wolverines Robert “Tractor” Traylor, who weighed well over 300 lbs charged down the lane with the game on the line, no one was willing to take a charge on him either and he dunked as time ran out.

We’re sure the staff didn’t find it funny, and we’d have rather seen Duke win than lose, but on one level, it was deeply funny. No one was going to get in front of that guy.
