It’s hard to remember now but in 1991, Duke was seen as a team that was really good but that couldn’t quite get over the hump.
That was the year that it all changed of course. Duke knocked off UNLV in an epic semifinal then took out Kansas and Roy Williams in a superbly gritty championship game.
Everyone remembers the spectacular alley-oop from Bobby Hurley to Grant Hill and it was amazing. There’s a lot more though so let’s get in the Wayback machine and revisit 1991.
