NCAA Basketball: Preseason-Duke at Ryerson University
Aug 15, 2018; Toronto, Ontario, Canada; Duke University head coach Mike Krzyzewski talks with forwards R.J. Barrett (5) and Zion Williamson (1) during a time out in a pre-season exhibition game against Ryerson University at Paramount Fine Foods Centre.
Dan Hamilton-USA TODAY Sports

Forward Matthew Hurt has scheduled his in-homes and the Hurts will be hosting Mike Krzyzewski, Bill Self and John Calipari, all on September 9th. Richard Pitino will represent Minnesota on the 10th while Penny Hardaway is due in on the 12th. Roy Williams will also turn up at some point.

Duke and Kentucky have gone head-to-head on several recruits but the guy we’re watching is Hardaway.

He’s already irritated Kentucky fans significantly and is set up to recruit immediately. What intrigues is that, unlike a lot of his predecessors at Memphis, Hardaway is going national.

Memphis is one of those unique spots where you can recruit heavily enough at home to not worry about the rest of the country so much. Hardaway, by contrast (and like Calipari when he was there), is not limiting himself to hometown prospects.

Keep in mind this is before he has coached a single game.
