Here’s an update on how Pitt, under new coach (and former Duke assistant) Jeff Capel, is getting ready for the season after last year’s disaster.

Capel doesn't want his players to dwell on last year which is probably smart. It’s time for a new start.

Jared Wilson-Frame, after playing last season at around 245, is down to 221. What’s his secret?

“Diet was definitely something you have to pay attention to. Staying away from certain foods and trying to proportion things right,” he told Trib Live. “But the most important thing, honestly, I did was just working really, really hard. I can’t say there’s a secret formula for that, just working really, really hard.”

Well put.

Capel has built a sense of excitement already that’s really fun even from a distance. It must be a blast up close.
