Here’s one of the more underappreciated games in the Duke canon: the 1990 overtime thriller against UConn.
Duke had made the Final Four in 1986, 1988, 1989 and was about to do it again. People didn’t realize yet how great a coach UConn’s Jim Calhoun was. Nor did we fully appreciate Christian Laettner’s emerging greatness. The epic 1992 win over Kentucky is the icon for Laettner but his winning shot here was pretty great too.
