North Carolina Central v Duke

Remember when Daniel Jones went down and someone at the Duke Chronicle predicted a losing season? It was too soon for that.

Well, now someone over there has said Duke could win the Coastal and it’s definitely too early for that.

Yes, Virginia Tech is down a quarterback. If you think that will make for an easy win, better think again.

That team got humiliated Saturday. There are basically three paths forward:

  1. Status quo. Just accept it.
  2. Disintegration. Continue to fall apart.
  3. Defiance. Refusing to give in to what happened against ODU.

Practice this week is going to be extremely intense for the Hokies. The coaching staff is going to challenge them at every turn to prove themselves. By the time they get to Durham, that team is going to be cranked up to the highest possible level. Anyone who expects them to roll over twice in a row is in for an ugly surprise.

Certainly Duke can win Saturday, but they’ll have to match Virginia Tech’s intensity. And that’s likely to be off the charts.
