When he is introduced in Cameron and around the ACC this year, this man deserves some warm applause.

PROVIDENCE, RI - MARCH 17: Head coach Kevin Keatts of the North Carolina-Wilmington Seahawks reacts in the first half against the Duke Blue Devils during the first round of the 2016 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament at Dunkin’ Donuts Center on March 17, 2016 in Providence, Rhode Island.

Kevin Keatts, you’ll remember, came to NC State after a great (albeit brief) run at UNC-Wilmington, where he proved he could coach with two NCAA tournament teams and outstanding games in the tournament against Duke and Virginia.

He still has ties to Wilmington obviously and has been moved by the suffering he’s seen.

So he’s been doing as much as he can to help out after Hurricane Florence. It’s been worse than anyone could have imagined with the city cut off for several days by road and with I-40 expected to be closed for at least the rest of this week.

It’s been hammer blow after hammer blow for people in Wilmington so good on him - and everyone else - for helping.

As a reminder, this is a long way from over. Much of I-40 and I-95 will remain closed for up to another week and some of the rivers are still rising. So if you can help in whatever way is best for you, please do.
