A vastly under-appreciated game.

NCAA Final Four - West Virginia v Duke

One of the real gems of the Coach K era was the Duke-West Virginia Final Four game in 2010.

In 2007-08, Duke fell to West Virginia 73-67 in the second round of the tournament. It wasn’t losing as much as how Duke lost.

Guys like Joe Alexander and Joe Mazzulla basically mocked the Blue Devils and pushed them around, outrebounding Duke 47-27 and limiting Duke to just one offensive rebound.

Lance Thomas, Kyle Singler, Brian Zoubek, Jon Scheyer and Nolan Smith were all on that team and you can bet they remembered for the rematch.

Mazzulla finished with just four points and a head wound thanks to Zoubek.

Duke hit 13 threes to West Virginia’s five and doubled the Mountaineers from the free throw line 14-7.

Duke pretty much dominated West Virginia, winning the rematch 78-57. So sit back and enjoy a wonderful team near its peak.
