Wendell Carter’s Plea

This is both a funny and perceptive story about Wendell Carter. Apparently he’s being bombarded by women and would like for them to leave him alone.

Most of them anyway.

On the one hand it’s funny to the 99% of men who have to actually work at getting women’s attention. On the other?

It underscores how smart Carter is.

Take any average teenager and put him in a situation where women are throwing themselves at him and he’s going to indulge. For some guys it becomes a real problem.

Take Mike Tyson for instance, who claimed at one point that he was having sex with 15 women per day, which leads to the question: how?

The answer? He was doing things like lining women up in a hotel room and just...sampling the buffet.

It destroyed a brilliant boxing career obviously and he’s not the only guy to go down that road. Tiger Woods and Wade Boggs come to mind quickly.

It’s interesting and instructive that, at 19 and with endless opportunities to get an early start on child support, Carter is instead saying leave me alone. That shows unusual awareness and focus, not to mention discipline.
