Davidson v Kentucky
BOISE, ID - MARCH 15: Head coach Bob McKillop of the Davidson Wildcats looks on in the first half against the Kentucky Wildcats during the first round of the 2018 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament at Taco Bell Arena on March 15, 2018 in Boise, Idaho.

During Silly Season, aka firing and hiring season every year after the tournament, we’ve said more than once that we can’t understand why people never seriously went after Davidson’s Bob McKillop.

We’re hardly basketball geniuses but the guy is so good that you don’t have to be a genius to see it.

Before he came to Davidson Duke never had to worry much about the Wildcats and Davidson has not beaten Duke since he arrived, not even when Steph Curry was there.

On the other hand though, Duke has not had an easy game with Davidson since he arrived. We’ve been incredibly impressed with how smart Davidson has been and how very well coached they are.

His peers have certainly noticed and while you don’t get an award for that, anyone who doesn’t see what a brilliant coach McKillop doesn’t understand this game.
