Kyrie Irving went to the Standing Rock reservation last week to meet a part of his family that he knew little about. His late mother was born a Sioux but given up for adoption.
She didn’t have much interest in exploring her birth family and people but her children, Kyrie and Asia, did and had a revelatory experience.
The Washington Post has the most detailed article about this we’ve seen. If you’re a fan of Irving, or just casually interested, it’s a great read.
