It’ll be a while before he’s a factor though.

NCAA Basketball: Louisville at Virginia
Jan 31, 2018; Charlottesville, VA, USA; Virginia Cavaliers head coach Tony Bennett yells to an official from the bench against the Louisville Cardinals in the second half at John Paul Jones Arena. The Cavaliers won 74-64.

We’re always intrigued with Tony Bennett’s recruits. He doesn’t necessarily go after the highest rated recruits but has a great instinct for who will fit his unique style.

Take London Perrantes for example, or Isaiah Wilkins. Or, more recently, Ty Jerome, who wasn’t expected to be a major force in college basketball but who has to be considered a Natural Born Killer.

He picks up odd big men too - Jack Salt is a muscle boy while Jay Huff came to Virginia as a twiggish 7-1 outside shooter (he’s now listed at 230).

Kadin Shedrick is closer to Huff than he is to Salt.

A Holly Springs native, he’s 6-10 and 190 so clearly it’ll take him a little while to bulk up enough to bang in the ACC.

Still, Bennett has proven that he can find guys who fit his system, so keep an eye on Shedrick and don’t be surprised if in a year or two he’s a real factor for Virginia.
