Here’s another reaction to Zion Williamson’s startling size. We’ve seen bigger players - remember Big Jelly? Florida State’s Nigel Dixon was close to 400 lbs when he got to FSU (he got down to around 350 eventually). NC State’s Beejay Anya was close to 350 and poor Geoff Crompton, who was immensely promising at UNC, never could get his weight under control (he later died of leukemia).

But we’ve never seen anyone like the Bumblebee. He really shouldn’t be able to dunk from behind the foul line at 6-6 and 285, and it’s not like he has freakishly long arms. But he can, and does, so naturally it’s great fodder for all basketball fans.
