Among other things he discussed Friday, Coach K had some nice praise for freshman Joey Baker.

Baker, who came as a bit of a surprise after reclassifying is generally seen as the least significant freshman but he may also be the one who stays the longest and has the deepest impact.

Coach K sounds impressed so far: “He’s doing well. It’s a little bit fast for him right now. He’s got a great attitude; he’s going to be a great player. He’s just going a little bit faster than he should right now. That’s better than going slower. He’ll be a good player here. We’re very happy that he’s here.”

There’s also a bit here about Marques Bolden’s optimism and Javin DeLaurier, who spent a lot of time this summer in San Antonio with teammate Justin Robinson and his famous father, David, who worked out with the two Blue Devils.

For DeLaurier, that’s going to be priceless. How many guys get tutored by Hall-of-Famers?
