This Saturday in NBA summer league play, the #1 and #2 picks in June’s draft, former high school teammates DeAndre Ayton and Marvin Bagley, will square off for the first time as pros.

Ayton says this: “Me and him are going to smile at each other. We’re just going to laugh. I think we’re going to laugh for a little bit and then it’s going to get down to business once we get a jump ball. That’s doing to be a competitive game. That’s going to be a fun game. Very intense.”

For his part, as far as we know, Bagley’s not talking. He had a poor outing against the Warrior’s summer league team though so we wouldn’t want to see him after that.

By the way, we could be wrong here, but has any school ever had the #1 and #2 players in a draft on the same team? That’s quite a distinction for Hillcrest Prep.
