High School Basketball: McDonalds High School All American Games
Mar 28, 2018; Atlanta, GA, USA; McDonalds All-American East guard RJ Barrett (6) shoots the ball against the West in the second half of the McDonalds High School All American Game at Philips Arena.
Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

We’ve been making this point for a while now and RJ Barrett agrees: Canadian basketball is about to catch up to most of the world and is in position to compete with the U.S.

It’s one of the less reported stories in basketball but not for long.

By the way, in this article he heaps great praise on friend and high school teammate Andrew Nemhard, calling him the smartest player he’s ever seen. Check it out:

“I think he’s the smartest player I’ve ever played with. I mean he just has a knack for the game that no other has. I was very fortunate to play with him literally since middle school, we played together on the same team, so it was great, he made me look good, he was a great person on and off the court.”

He’ll be at Florida, so keep an eye on him too.
