Here are some of the more interesting Duke draft news available today.
First, Marvin Bagley is getting a bit tired of feeling disrespected in the run-up to the draft. Specifically he’s a bit irritated with DeAndre Ayton saying he’s going first. He also says playing for the Phoenix Suns, his hometown team, would “mean the world” to him.
Meanwhile in New York, Wendell Carter says he could definitely see himself playing with Kristaps Porzingis and that he wouldn’t mind being second banana: “He just stretches the floor. He runs the floor very well. I think I run the floor very well, so we can interchange in that aspect,” Carter said. “I don’t always have to have the ball in my hands to affect the game. I’ll let him do his thing and I’m just there to clean up rebounds. Of course, I have my own game where I can also score, so we can easily complement each other’s game.”
Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics are looking at Grayson Allen who let loose an interesting tidbit about once and potentially future teammate Jayson Tatum.
