As Cleveland coach Tyronn Lue promised, the Cavaliers turned to Rodney Hood and the former Blue Devil played pretty well, scoring 15 points on 7-11 from the floor to finish as Cleveland’s third leading scorer. He was also the fourth leading rebounder with six behind big men Kevin Love (13), LeBron James (11) and Tristan Thompson (seven).
That was in 26 minutes and that’s not too shabby.
Unfortunately, despite an off night by most of Golden State, Kevin Durant came through with a monster game, scoring 43 on 15-23 from the floor.
Golden State thus takes a 3-0 lead and while only a fool would say never to LeBron James doing, well, anything on a basketball court, that’s asking an awful lot.
Either Hood or former Duke teammate Quinn Cook is going to get a ring and as of now it seems like it’ll almost certainly be Cook.
- Kevin Durant sinks Cavs again with 43 points in Warriors’ win
- Kevin Durant rips away Cavs’ best shot to make NBA Finals competitive
- Uncomfortable in Cleveland? Nope, the Warriors think of it as ‘a second home’
- Durant wills Warriors to Game 3 win over Cavaliers
