No matter how far Quinn Cook’s NBA career extends, he has earned far more respect than most guys ever will.

As a thought exercise, the former Blue Devil has earned more respect than Sean Kemp, Gilbert Arenas, Darko Milicic, Sam Bowie and a number of other people including probably JR Smith.

The universal respect for his hard work and professionalism may not translate into a 15-year career but he’s the kind of guy people want to have around. He could easily have a future in coaching or management because people know he’s an absolute professional.

That’s in the future obviously. For now he’s in the league and and a valued teammate playing for a championship. What player, what kid who grew up loving and living the game, could want more?
