Marvin talks about defense, Duke and Puma, but not Nike. Nope. Not a chance.

PUMA Re-Enters Basketball Category With Launch Party At 40/40 Club In New York City

CBS has a pretty interesting interview up with Marvin Bagley who opens up more than he has in the past.

One great point: when asked why he didn't block more shots at Duke, he says “we had Wendell.”

Fair point.

Another great part is when his dad is asked about Nike in light of Marvin III signing with Puma and...buzzes.

Apparently Puma wisely addressed Bagley’s passion for rapping. That was pretty smart.

By the way, Puma has an interesting history. Adolf (Adi) and Rudolph Dassler started a shoe company in pre-war Germany. Among their clients: American Jesse Owens who wore their shoes in the Berlin Olympics.

After the war, the brothers had a falling out and each started his own company. Adi of course did Adidas and Rudolph did Puma.

The brothers were buried as far apart as possible in the local cemetery.

Nike is the king now but Adidas and Puma are both still powerhouses and both are still based in Herzogenaurach.
