Duke Basketball Recruiting: Joe Girard Link

Doesn’t sound like Kentucky will be going after him.

Here’s an article from Kentucky.com about Joe Girard, a player Kentucky most likely won't be recruiting. Why?

“My family is definitely big into academics. I’m going to be a multi-year guy. I’m not going to be a one-and-done type player, so I’m going to be there for multiple years.”

And since Calipari doesn’t really recruit guys to be upperclassmen, that kind of rules him out.

For Coach K, on the other hand, although he has avidly recruited one-and-done guys, he has also said he likes a mix with solid program guys. So Girard might be a great fit.

Unusually, by the way, this is the rare article from a Kentucky oriented site that’s even slightly critical.
