Former Duke Blue Devil Quinn Cook has busted his butt to get to the NBA. Don't misunderstand, most guys who get there bust their butt. Most guys though don’t have to come through the G-League and work quite as hard as Cook has. He could just easily have given up and played overseas for a nice salary - and probably be pretty dominant.

In many ways, he’s a superb role model.

Here’s a nice piece on his rise from the Santa Cruz Chronicle where Cook played for part of his G-League stretch. One of the keys to his success is a growing self-awareness, starting at Duke when he had to adapt at first to a smaller role than he wanted.

He grew a lot then and clearly hasn’t stopped.
