The historic home of college lacrosse is the East Coast and in particular the triangle between Maryland, Johns Hopkins and Navy. You ruin the triangle by tossing Virginia in, but they’re usually pretty tough too.

So unlike most sports, beating Johns Hopkins is difficult and counts for a lot. And beating the Blue Jays to advance to the lacrosse Final Four?

Sublime.

That’s what Duke did Sunday, beating Hopkins 14-9.

Duke will play Maryland and the winner will advance to meet the winner of the Albany-Yale game on the other side of the bracket.
