NCAA Basketball: Duke at Florida
Nov 26, 2017; Portland, OR, USA; Duke Blue Devils forward Javin DeLaurier (12) and Florida Gators forward Kevarrius Hayes (13) fight for a rebound in the first half at Moda Center.

Mike DeCourcy didn't take too long to respond to the ACC’s suggested rules changes - he hates them all.

He mocks the idea of an expanded NCAA tournament field as being a way to get more ACC teams in (he’s probably right).

He mocks the expanded lane because college basketball already, he says, struggles with having low post players (what he doesn’t say is that talented big men are at a premium and don’t stay in college long anyway and that forwards are now typically playing center, so what’s the big deal?)

Resetting the shot clock to 20 after an offensive rebound actually seems kind of cool and like something that would speed up the pace.

Pushing the three point shot back...the question here is what would the effect of widening the lane and making the trey more difficult? Well, it would lead to more slashing and driving and with players being in a smaller size range (basically 6-2 to 6-8 with some outliers on either end), a more athletic contest.

Some of it’s self-serving but some of it would also be fun to see.
