NCAA Championship Game: Butler v Duke
INDIANAPOLIS - APRIL 05: Assistant coach Nate James of the Duke Blue Devils celebrates after he cut down a piece of the net following their 61-59 win against the Butler Bulldogs during the 2010 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball National Championship game at Lucas Oil Stadium on April 5, 2010 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

According to ESPN’s Jeff Goodman, LaSalle has interviewed Duke assistant Nate James:

LaSalle has also interviewed ESPN’s Tim Legler, a LaSalle grad, and Villanova assistant Ashley Howard.

For James it’s an opportunity obviously but Philly is one of those places where it helps to know people. If he got the job he’d be smart to hire some local assistants and then immediately start to work the high school scene.

Like New York, Baltimore and D.C., and really every major Northern city, there are public and parochial schools not to mention the AAU people.

James is going to do well wherever he might go but some places have bigger curves than others (that goes for football schools too).
