Golden State Warriors guard Quinn Cook
Mar 25, 2018; Oakland, CA, USA; Golden State Warriors guard Quinn Cook (4) shoots the ball against Utah Jazz forward Jae Crowder (99) during the second quarter at Oracle Arena.

People around Duke learned to appreciate Quinn Cook and, we think it’s fair to say, have been surprised that it’s taken him so long to find a spot in the NBA.

As he’s tried to catch on, guys like LeBron James, Currry and Kevin Durant have said repeatedly that he’s an NBA guy, it’s just a question of finding his spot.

He seems to have found one with the Warriors now, filling in for Steph Curry and doing a brilliant job.

And as he’s on the verge of a possibly significant deal with Golden State, check out what coach Steve Kerr has to say about his surprise ace performer:

“His talent is obvious. He’s a great shooter. But it’s his character, work ethic and what his teammates think of him that really stands out. He’s one of those guys that gets it. He understands the value of hard work, the value of staying ready and producing when we call upon you and not complaining and supporting everyone else when we don’t. But not everybody is like that.”

Really, what better praise could you possibly get?
