That didn't take long: former Duke assistant Jeff Capel got his first commitment as Pitt coach when combo guard Tre McGowens committed to Pitt - without even taking a visit.

The 6-3 McGowens is a Top 100 recruit, something Pitt hasn’t seen in awhile. And just as interesting, Capel went south for his first recruit. McGowan plays at Hargrave, in Chatham, Virginia, but he’s actually from South Carolina.

And best of all he’s instant help: he’s in the class of 2019 but can reclassify and play this fall.
