Over at the N&O Ron Morris has a really nice piece up on the late Vic Bubas who, we learn, was hired without an interview - and not initially embraced by Duke fans.

Morris gets into his innovations and his impact on the ACC with comments from Bucky Waters, who Bubas recruited to State then hired as his assistant at Duke (Waters succeeded Bubas but his militaristic approach proved to be a poor fit for the rebellious early 1970s).

It’s really a nice piece and gets you to the heart of the Bubas era.

By the way, speaking of Waters, if we know you offline ask us to tell you our Bucky story. It’s a classic Bucky story.
