As Jeff Capel starts to lay the foundations of his Pitt program we’re starting to get some signs of what his priorities are and how the early days are shaping up.

First, he’s got to figure out who’s staying. Some of the young talent is actually pretty good and several guys have already decided to stick around.

Freshman point guard Marcus Carr and senior Ryan Luther, who sat out the season, are undecided.

Terrell Brown and Kene Chukwuka haven’t decided while Terrell Brown and Kene Chukwuka, unlike just about everyone else, didn’t ask to be released.

There’s still no news on his staff but he did say something we thought was really smart: he wants to make sure Pitt is focusing on Canadian prospects. There are a lot of good prospects up north and Pitt could be - might as well be - a destination school just as Miami should (we’ve always said Miami should be the main school for basketball talent in the Caribbean and Latin America).
