Duke will open the 2018 NCAA tournament as the #2 seed in the Midwest and will play Iona in Pittsburgh on Thursday. Danny Hurley’s Rhode Island team is looming as is Michigan State. Rhody will have to beat Trae Young and Oklahoma to advance to face the winner of Duke-Iona.
The Midwest field:
- Kansas
- Duke
- Michigan State
- Auburn
- Clemson
- TCU
- Rhode Island
- Seton Hall
- NC State
- Oklahoma
- TBD in Dayton
- New Mexico
- College of Charleston
- Bucknell
- Iona
- Penn
Also in the field from the ACC:
- Virginia - 1 seed
- UNC - 2 seed
- Clemson - 5 seed
- Miami - 6 seed
- Virginia Tech - 8 seed
- Florida State - 9 seed
- NC State - 9 seed
- Syracuse - First Four
We’ll have more soon but congratulations to Davidson, Arizona State and NCCU for making the field. Bobby Hurley coaches ASU obviously and NCCU is in Durham. We just admire Bob McKillop so much. It’s great that all three teams made it although Davidson’s bid came at the expense of Notre Dame.
