As Cameron Reddish’s reputation grew, one of the repeated concerns was whether he worked hard enough. Part of it may be that like former Blue Devil Luol Deng, he’s so talented that he makes it look like he’s not working hard. We used to watch Deng and think he wasn’t working all that hard only to realize that he was downcourt way ahead of everyone else.

Fair or not, Reddish has obviously heard it and would like that conversation to change.

So Reddish is understandably proud to have been named to the McDonald’s team. This week the sponsors stopped by his school to give him an honorary jersey (presumably they’ll also be stopping off to visit RJ Barrett, Zion Williamson and Tre Jones as well).

It would be pretty amazing for any 18-year-old to be that good at something and there’s no way you get there without hard work.
