Bagley vs. Dakich

Marvin Bagley wasn’t too impressed with what Dan Dakich said about him Monday night.

Having really only heard Dan Dakich do games we don't care that much about, we didn’t fully understand why he gets on people’s nerves.

We had a better idea after Virginia Tech when he ripped Marvin Bagley, saying this:

“I know this is blasphemy, but Bagley is all about Bagley. I mean, honest to goodness, I can see in 18 minutes why Duke was able to go on a run when he was hurt. You hate to say that about a kid, but he is about himself. He gets the ball, it doesn’t come out. He doesn’t play defense. He’s a terrific talent, don’t get me wrong. But you can see real clear, real fast, and I’ll take all the shots that people want to give me, but you can see he is about him.”

It’s shooting from the hip in the worst sort of way.

He’s basing that on one game when the kid isn’t really at 100%. We’ve watched him all year and we know he has work to do on defense but selfish? Out for himself? We’ve never thought that and thought it was a ridiculous thing to say.

Bagley wasn’t too impressed either. Check out what he posted on Twitter.
