Wake Forest arguably had its best win of the season over Charlotte, winning by 24 and controlling the game nearly the entire way.
A lot of things went right for the Deacs here: Wake Forest drew more fouls, controlled the boards, forced more turnovers and capitalized from the line.
Charlotte is now coached by former Tony Bennett assistant Ron Sanchez who plans to bring the Bennett family system to the 49ers.
Didn't work this time around as Charlotte gave up 80 points to the Demon Deacons but he’s only seven games in.
Tony Bennett clearly thinks very highly of his former assistant and in more than just basketball terms.
Speaking of Bennett, some coaches are really good at what they do but we would not want to spend time with them. Bennett comes across as just immensely likable. Take this video for instance. Add that to his wonderful sense of perspective following the UMBC loss last spring and he just seems like the real deal.
Pitt lost just its second game of the season after last year’s disaster and the main reason is Jeff Capel. His players have noticed his commitment and passion and are responding.
Florida State’s off to an excellent start this season and they’ve done it so far without Phil Cofer. Well he’s almost back now and that will just make them tougher still.
By the way, we overlooked this when Penn beat Miami, but the Quakers are now coached by former BC head man Steve Donahue who seems to have landed on his feet with the Quakers.
