Cameron Crazies have raised enough money to fly KJ Maura in for the Duke-Virginia game on January 19th.

While it’ll be fun to have him and we expect he’ll have a really good time no matter who wins, it would have been better as a quiet surprise.

Virginia has done a tremendous job at coming to terms with the historic loss to #16 seed UMBC in last spring’s tournament. First Tony Bennett was incredibly graceful and composed in a tough situation immediately after the game and then Virginia has made it clear that, rather than viewing as traumatic, they’re using it as motivation.

So it’s entirely possible that when Kyle Guy suggests to Virginia fans that they contribute to the effort to bring Maura to Cameron that he’s doing it because, well, because Duke fans are willing to help his team by parking motivation front and center.
