When Bill Russell retired, no one thought Red Auerbach could keep the Boston Celtics dynasty going, but he did, rebuilding around John Havlicek and Dave Cowens.

Cowens, who went to Florida State in the pre-ACC days, was a 6-8 center who battled a lot of the legends of his day with immense heart.
